Biography:
Jake Sully (Na'vi), portrayed by Sam Worthington, first appeared in the 2009 film *Avatar*. A paraplegic former Marine, Jake is recruited for the Avatar Program on Pandora.
Initially tasked with gathering intel for the Resources Development Administration (RDA), Jake's consciousness is linked to an avatar, a genetically engineered Na'vi body.
As he spends time among the Na'vi, particularly Neytiri, he begins to empathize with their culture and develops a deep connection to Pandora's ecosystem. This shift in allegiance leads him to fight alongside the Na'vi against the RDA's destructive colonization.
Jake earns the title of Toruk Makto, becoming the sixth Na'vi to bond with the great leonopteryx, a formidable flying predator, further solidifying his leadership. Ultimately, Jake permanently transfers his consciousness into his avatar, fully embracing his life as a Na'vi and remaining on Pandora.
